Have you ever thought that the world you lived in was ruled by money? Well let me tell you, you're dead wrong. If you think you're kingdom, country, or world was greedy, you haven't seen ANYTHING until you've visited my home of Dokapon Kingdom.
Dokapon Kingdom is a world that is ruled by currency, and if you think I'm kidding, you're either very naieve, or haven't been there yourself. Of course, considering if this is maybe the first time you've ever even heard of this, I suppose explanations are in order then.
My name is Wes Teller Collin, I'm a wizard from the peaceful, if not somewhat money centered Kingdom of Dokapon. The Kingdom of Dokapon is a world of up to Seven continents; Asiana, Hallstatt, Clovis, Llano, Aphrike, Flinders, and Gunnbjorn are what their called, and the Kingdom has lived in prosperity for many, many years. The people lived peaceful and comfortable lives with their own fat wallets jingling in their pockets. Trade boomed between the countries, and no matter where you went, poverty was either extremely rare or almost non-existant.
When I was a boy of around 6 years of age, I lived in the thriving city of Sterling alongside my greatest friends in the whole wide world. We lived in peace between each other, leaving the money business to the adults, only getting into the business when we wanted to buy snacks ourselves. We thought that we would grow up always being friends with them...
However, I had NO idea how wrong I was...

"TAG!!! YOU'RE IT!!"
There was a flash of green and the figure that had tagged the young boy took off down the street.
The boy that was tagged was a young boy with light blue hair, wearing a brown leather steeple hat, much too big for him, atop his head, going down past his ears. He wore brown cloth clothing, and had deep ceruliean eyes. "Hey!! Come back here Robyn, that wasn't fair!" He chuckled as he took off after the figure.
Several feet ahead, the figure that had tagged the boy was revealed to be none other then a young girl with long, light green hair. She wore a white blouse with baggy green pants that looked otherwise fashionable. The girl's hair was pulled into a ponytail, and she had brown eyes. This girl was Robyn, the daughter of a merchant in Sterling. She looked over her shoulder, as she blew a raspberry at the boy trying to catch up. "Don't think so Wessy! Run run as fast as you can, cause you won't catch me!" Regardless, this made the boy, known as Wes, run even faster.
As the two ran around town, one could see that the town was a modest little place with that quaint Medieval feel to it. People went about their business buying groceries, and various other things in market buildings. As the two ran by, the adults couldn't help but watch them, chuckling to themselves. Wes and Robyn had been friends since they were toddlers, and watching them at play was a normal occurance that often brought smiles on their faces.
As the two raced across town, they soon came across the town square, where the mayor of the village, an old, somewhat short man, with a bushy white beard, wearing a top hat, and festive looking robes, watched as they ran off. Along with the Mayor was a young boy with dark brown hair, with red eyes, and wearing robes similar to the Mayor himself. With a smile, he waved to the Mayor and was off like a shot after them. The Mayor merely waved back, smiling an old man's smile.
"So who's it?" The boy said as he caught up with Wes.
Wes smiled a little, "Actually, Daryl..." He quickly tagged the boy, "You are now! Tag! No tag backs!" With that being said, Wes, laughing, was off, Robyn taking off in another direction.
Daryl, caught by surprise at this, put on the breaks and instantly looked in the directions his two friends took off in. Thinking, he considered who he should chase after; Robyn was probably the fastest person in their group, so tagging her would most likely take either cornering her, or sneaking up on her. Wes was a different story; he was a fast runner, true, but he wasn't very good at keeping up with much faster runners, as a matter of fact, he was more of a brainy kid then an athlete. With this in mind, he quickly took off to his left; the direction Wes took off to.
DC-DC-DC-DC-DC
As Wes ran, he found himself in the suburbian area of the town, which was made up of multiple houses, and even a few mansions, that stood up to three to five stories. Around the houses were parents, children, and pets, whom went on with their usual day-to-day schedule; mothers hung laundry on a line to dry, fathers read the 'Dokapon weekly', while children played around on the freshly cut lawns playing with their dogs, lizards, or their Wabbits (Wabbits were extremely rare creatures that looked like a spherical stuffed animal with long rabbit like ears). Other times, the families were just having a ball amongst each other.
Wes continued running until he found himself at a three story mansion, that appeared to be made out of some very fine stone. It was very well decorated, with tapestries hanging from the wall, and flags flapping in the wind atop flag-poles. This house belonged to another of Wes' friends; a young girl named Blair. "Hey Blair! Come on out! Me and the guys are playing Tag! Come on!"
From one of the second floor windows, the cute visage of a little girl stuck her head out the window, looking at Wes curiously. She had long brown hair, wearing what appeared to be very fashionable clothes; a bright pink blouse, with a pink beret hat, and baggy white leather pants. Her big startlingly silver eyes looked down on Wes. "What's that Wes?" She said with a cute girly voice.
"Do you want to come out and play with us, Blair?" He yelled up to her. "Me, Daryl, and Robyn are playing Tag! You can join us if you want!"
Blair looked excited at this... If not just a moment, before a saddened frown appeared on her face. "Oh I wish I could Wes, but my parents are keeping me in today for magic lessons..."
Wes stuck out his tongue, as if something rather gross got into his mouth, though one could tell it was in disgust at the notion that Blair couldn't come out. "Bleh! No fun! Come on! Can't you play hookey?"
Blair shook her head. "I can't Wes. I'll get in trouble if I do it again!" Blair pouted a little, "I'll be out later though. Can you wait till then?"
"But we're playing now!" Wes whined some more.
The girl sighed. "I'm sorry Wes... Well see you later." She closed the window upon saying that.
Wes pouted at this, "Hmm! Now what am I supposed to do?"
"NOOGIE!!!!"
He immediately felt an arm grapple him from around the neck, and a hand full of knuckles scratch into the top of his head. "Tag! You're it kid!" Came Daryl's voice, as he continued to noogie him.
"Ow!! Stop it Daryl! I get it! I'm it!" While it hurt only just a little bit, Wes knew this was only just to get him to laugh, and laugh he did. "Okay, let me go!"
"Teasing little kids again Daryl?"
Recognizing the voice, Daryl instantly released Wes, and turned to look to his right. Standing there was a young man of around 8 years of age, with black hair. He wore what appeared to be the clothes of a squire, with leather armor and black leather pants. The boy smiled at the sight. "You really need to learn to pick on someone your own size."
Daryl blew a raspberry at the new boy, "Ah, what do you know Jamie?" He pointed to Wes whom was getting back to his feet. "I was just playing a game with Wes here. He was the wise-guy that had to go and tag me!"
Wes gave Daryl a dirty look. "Well, that was only because I couldn't catch up with Robyn! You were the closest person I could tag!"
Daryl turned to Wes, giving him an equally angry look. "Well a little more warning next time would be appreciated!" Waving off the raspberry that Wes was blowing at him, Daryl crossed his arms at Jamie. "So what are you doing here anyways? One would think your daddy would be so busy pounding soldier drills into your head."
Jamie shook his head. "Ah Dad's on leave. Apparently, there's an expidition that needs to be done. The Tower of Rabble is what the place was called I think." He shrugged, "Either way, I'm a free man for a while."
Wes grinned at this. "Good!" He quickly tagged Jamie. "Tag! And having said that!" He quickly took off running.
"H-Hey!!!!" Jamie shouted after Wes, as he took off after him. Daryl chuckled at this, as he quickly joined them.

Yeah, pretty sweet life, eh? Between, me, Robyn, Daryl, Jamie, and, even sometimes, Blair, it was a sweet deal. If you asked anyone back in Sterling, we were probably the closest friends you could ever see. We spent nearly every day together. Sometimes there were times when we couldn't but that only made it all the sweeter when we got together again.
However, one day, it all came to an end...
Call it the time of maturity if you will, but when I turned 12, our whole gang went off on their own individual journeys, to seek their fortunes;
Robyn, whom was the daughter of a merchant, became a traveling merchant along with her younger brother. I got letters from her from time to time...
Daryl, the son of the Sterling Mayor, decided to take a different role then his father; becoming a mercenary! He often sent me pictures of his captured game, along with the smallest cut of the pie; though this was just cause he always wrote that, he figured I'd need some of it for whatever 'half-baked job'. Heh, what a kidder...
Jamie, the son of a big-time high ranking general of the Dokapon military, was soon off to become a soldier off in the Country of Flinders, where the Tower of Rabble is supposed to be located... Though why he's went there is beyond me...
Blair, whom was a prodigy in magic raised by a family of wizards, was shipped off to Wizards academy, where she's become the valdictorian...
As for me, a farm boy with a little experience, became a farmer. However, as I've went along, I've found that I have quite the talent for magic, and it's really helped to make things easier.
Now, with all of those explanations put aside, I guess you know what's going to happen next. After years of seperation, we'll come back together and it'll be just like old times... ... ...
Well... ...
Your HALF right.

In an undisclosed location... ... ...
A deep, pitch-black, modern-aged room could be seen, as the camera pans around. Modern furniture with a rather... Macabre twist, could be seen decorating the entire room. From tapestries to giant oil paintings, this place would've looked fancy, if it didn't look so downright CREEPY.
In one corner of the room, one could find a big Television set, sitting in front of a couch. Now, one wouldn't think this was strange...
If not for the fact that the TV's sole purpose was keeping a single person in the center of the screen.
This person appeared to be a young girl, with blonde hair pulled into four pigtails, two for each side, and had serene blue eyes. She wore a very extravagant pink and white dress, with a large saphire necklace around her neck. To top off the look, she wore a small yellow tiara atop her head. She appeared displeased at something. "Do you call this the most fashionable dress you can make?! I wouldn't even wear this to a funeral!!"
The screen widened out a little to reveal a young man presenting what appeared to be another extravagant dress, though it was noticeably more darker in color to the one she wore. "Well, it was the best our village had to offer." the young man cringed. "If this doesn't please you, I can always go back to the carpenter and have a new one made..."
The fashionable girl nodded to this. "Well see that you do. I payed you for the best dress you can make, and I won't accept anything less then what I've sent you in payment." She smiled a little, as she patted the boy's back. "Don't worry, there's always next time, but try to bring a good one this time, okay?"
The boy groaned as he walked off, while this was common behavior for the girl, it was still something of a pain in the butt. "Yes, your highness. I'll be back with the dress you were promised..." Having said that, he began the long trek back home.
The girl, revealed to be Princess Penny, the heir of the Dokapon Kingdom throne, smiled slightly. "Oh I can't wait for that new dress to come in!" Excitedly, she started to walk off to her room, the camera for the TV, invisible to her, following her movements.
The camera continued to follow Penny, as she walked down the hall... ... ...
Click!
The TV froze on what would seem to be the perfect close-up on Penny's face, showing her glowing skin, her cute blue eyes, and her selfish little grin.
"Wow..." Came a voice, young and powerful, from somewhere outside the TV. "Now THAT is a babe." This was followed by an insidious chuckle.
Whatever this being was, it sounded like it just came up with a plan, and whatever it was...
It COULDN'T have been good news for the Kingdom of Dokapon.

I loved the bit with the 'Wabbits as I said on YIM. While I doubt it was intentional, I couldn't help but picture Elmer Fudd running a pet shop, selling these creatures lol.
Good work, Gantz, and I eagerly await to see more.
